Stanhopes Odwig was bought as a foal from Holland by Lady Petersham in 1996.
Hannah Esberger Shepherd trained and competed him from the age of four and more recently he was trained by Eric Theilgard.

Lucy Beckingham a young rider is the current owner and rider of Stanhopes Odwig and is trained by Hannah Esberger Shepherd.
The combination have been selected for the British 2006 young rider squad.

Grand Sire Samber
Samber's name is synonymous with coloured performance horses through out Europe and the U.S.A.
A 16.2hh, 8.75" bone, brown tobiano, born 2/4/76, bred by Mr H Smilda in Holland.
Samber proved himself in competitions in the 1980's reaching Grand prix in dressage and Grade A in Show Jumping.
Samber's influences as an international performance sire have proven themselves in all olympic disciplines.
Samber's Dam Tina D, the black tobiano preferent mare by ordonnans was a legend in her own right.
Great Grand Sire Purioso
A 1990's sportshorse produced as much for dressage as jumping, Purioso has produced 3 olympic sons including Olympic Bonfire and Olympic Cocktail whose offspring include JAZZ.
He is the son of the leading German Stallion FURIOSO, producer of a line of international and olympic show jumpers.
Edwig
Stanhopes Odwig's sire is Edwig, who is described as a very talented jumper and dressage horse, and has performed at National Showjumping level.
Edwig's dam, Palatina, was the only KWPN dam never to be beaten in in-hand or riding classes.
